Mark as Useful called claiming to be bank of america, but when I called bank of america they have no record fo requesting to talk to me, so this is some sort of phishing scheme.

Mark as Useful Got a unsolicited blank call on Sunday afternoon 2pm. Reverse Phone Lookup lists the number as "Go Huskies" with a address of 26 Tavern Rd, Boston our kid attends northeastern univ so could be for some sort of donation money

Mark as Useful They never leave a message for me and hang up when I answer.
If they call about a friend or relative- they are NEVER to say the friend or relative owes money. They are allowed to call you to leave a phone number or ask for better contact information. They may only say it is a business matter.
If they actually say your friend or relative owes money, they are then in violation of the FDCPA- your relative may be entitled $$ for this breach of privacy.
The collection agency itself will be fined by the government $1000 if it is the first time and more money on successive violations.

Mark as Useful Clive calls telling me I owe money for a payday loan. This has been going on fro some time. I talked to them in the past and even got to talk to a supervisor. They make big threats about lawsuits and such but I never see any paper. They called today at my job and now I have my boss giving them hell. I would for a government contractor and any debt collectors calling can upset the apple cart so we are now harrassing them. I'm also going to report them to the government and see where that goes. Do not give in to these people. If they call give them hell and watch them squirm. Demand paperwork and never send any money to them. Keep up fighting for your ringhts!!!

Mark as Useful These people started calling me last night and when I answer and say hello they hang up. I just called them back and found out it was some college thing or something. I followed the messages and pressed 1 to be removed only to be told I didn't press any key. I tried this several times until it said something about my birth date doesn't match my application and then it hung up. If someone out there can take care of this problem that would be greatly appreciated.
